Temple Run VR

We all know about the insanely popular Android game ‘Temple Run’. Everyone who owns a smartphone downloads this game and goes crazy playing it endlessly because it’s just that addictive.

The one off game soon turned into an entire series because of its immense popularity with smartphone owners. This September, the developers decided to release a virtual reality version specifically designed to run with Gear VR and Oculus Rift’s head mounted displays, respectively. Gear VR is a virtual reality headset – a project of Samsung, obviously compatible with the Samsung smartphones. Gear VR has been developed in collaboration with the creators of Oculus Rift. The main purpose of developing Gear VR was to introduce a wide array of entertainment applications and gaming to mobile users. Here’s your chance to completely lose yourself in a fully immersive 3D version of this game, titled ‘Temple Run VR’. Imangi Studios is responsible for this extremely addictive game series which is one hundred times more fun to play in virtual reality. Fans of the series have already been posting rave reviews about the demos that they have been enjoying. Since Samsung Gear VR has been made available for public consumers, Imangi Studios has made good on its claim and is soon releasing Temple Run VR exclusively for Gear VR. For those who own the Gear, Temple Run VR is now available for download from the Oculus Rift marketplace.

Temple Run VR is available for play in the first person perspective which makes it more challenging and a lot scarier. The graphics in the Android version were already way more advanced than any other smartphone game – imagine how amped up they will be in the virtual reality version! The game is action based and comprises of the main character running endlessly to avoid being caught by demon monkeys. These monkeys have been made even more horrific for the virtual reality version of Temple Run. The game appears to be no different from its mobile version to those who haven’t tried it but testers swear that it is a whole new experience, if played through Gear VR or Oculus Rift.

Players can control the game and the character’s movements in two ways: the first is through the touch pad built in the Gear VR headset and the second is through using a gamepad connected with a Bluetooth device. Temple Run VR is available for download absolutely free of cost. Virtual Reality Times will keep following the game’s updates and report back with them as soon as possible.
