Train Simulator 2015 has Oculus Rift Support
Dovetail Games has just launched its latest sim in the Steam Store titled Train Simulator 2015. Train Simulator 2015 features new trains, different routes, an academy that teaches you to drive a train in a step wise manner and support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. In the recent years, we have seen huge improvements in simulation games and Dovetail Games has gone one step ahead by releasing Train Simulation 2015 which is compatible for Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets.

TS2015 currently has three to four routes that depend on the edition. The routes include East Coast Main Line: London–Peterborough, Northeast Corridor: New York–New Haven and Munich–Garmisch-Partenkirchen included with the Standard Edition and the Pacific Surfliner: LA–San Diego included with the Steam Edition. Those who have bought TS2015 prior to 18 September 2014 have the original content and they can purchase new routes from through Steam Store.

Adam Lucas, the producer of TS2105, was asked some questions in an interview related to recent upsurge in sims. He thinks that sims make great family games. The parents who used to play 8bit games in the 80s and 90s can now enjoy a somewhat similar experience with their children while playing simulation games. They can go fishing, drive trains, fly air planes and do other things they are interested in.

The team of Dovetail Games has made the game easily accessible such as its compatibility with Xbox360 to ensure that a large number of people can experience the game. Moreover, they have introduced TS Academy in the latest game where players can learn the basics features of driving steam, diesel and electric trains, passenger and freight. Once they know the basic principles, the players will be able to handle the challenges that come in later.

There is no denying that the best and most exciting addition to TS2015 is the Oculus Rift support. The immersive environment makes the sims even more amazing and highly realistic. Lucas stated, ‘The very first time we all tried Oculus Rift with Train Simulator, we were blown away. The sense of being in the cab, being there with the world unfolding around you is staggering. Your natural instinct is to reach out and grab the controls!’ Dovetail is currently looking for ways to further improve the VR experience and trying to implement Oculus Rift support into other simulations such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Dovetail Games Fishing.
